Miami, FL — September 19, 2025 — Mater Academy Schools proudly announces that five exceptional students have been recognized as National Merit Scholarship Program Semi-Finalists, one of the nation’s most prestigious academic honors.
Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) identifies and honors high-achieving students across the United States based on their outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Semi-Finalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and are now eligible to compete for Finalist standing and National Merit Scholarships.
Mater Academy congratulates the following Semi-Finalists:
Christopher Lemoine, Mater Lakes Academy
Anthony D. Molina, Mater Academy Charter High School
Daniel I. Peraza, Mater Academy Charter High School
Abraham Piedra, Mater Performing Arts Academy
Francisco Iriarte, Mater Brickell Academy
These students represent the very best of Mater Academy; their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence are an inspiration to our network of schools. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to all that they will achieve.
Semi-Finalists will continue in the competition for approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million, to be awarded in the spring.
This recognition highlights Mater Academy, Inc., and its schools continued tradition of academic excellence, providing students with the tools, opportunities, and support to achieve at the highest levels.
